Financial Results at a Glance
This year you will note we have completed a finical report as opposed to a full audited report, this was made available to us after the Government made changes to the reporting system.
- Turnover for the year totaled $ 604,657which is down from $660,550 for the previous year(-$55,892 or -8.5%).
- Bar Trading is down $32346 (-8%) from the previous year, this is being monitored by the management & board.
- Poker Machines are down 13.5% ($22,000) from the previous year.
Profit from continuing operations for the year was $13168 (168% up on 10/11). This result is made up from several controls put in place by the Board & Management, Solar Power, ATM, Review rather than Audit and a refund from Lismore City Council for over paid rates from the previous years. - Cash and cash equivalents held by the club at the end of the financial year was $202,971.80compared with $215,143.75 from the previous year, this is down due to the spending of grant monies for the oval lighting project & the purchase of the courtesy bus.
- These figures still include grant money received from various bodies to undertake the field extension and lighting upgrade of Balzer Oval which was not completed this finical year Due to a wet season, so this will still appear in next year’s report. The club continued to remain debt free at the end of the financial year.

- Donations / Promotions to local Sporting sub clubs $53,500
- Club promotions $21,431 which includes Restaurant promotions of more than $9,500

Future Developments
The future development of the bar /cool room and toilet areas. The Board has taken the option to hold off on these extensions in the current economic climate, but this will be revisited with the new board & with implementation of our strategic plan for the club for the next 5 years.
Completed Projects
The club has completed the development of the sporting fields at Balzer oval. The works included the installation of two additional light poles, the associated electrical work this included the installation of a central metering point which gives a saving every year of $800 by eliminating 2 meter reading points (soccer & Tennis), we now have the best night facility within Lismore Shire boundaries.
Honorable Mentions
On behalf of the outgoing Board of Directors I would like to pay tribute to the Management and Staff (under the guidance of Bernadette Ross) for their remarkable efforts throughout the year. Bernie has led from the front and formed a cohesive, reliable and conscientious team. The control of expenses has been instrumental in assisting the club again turn a profit for the year. I must also pay particular mention to Vera Byrne who I am sure has been of tremendous assistance to Bernie in achieving the results we have experienced this year. To all the other staff (Dylan, Holly, Rocket, Andrew and Rob) thanks for your individual efforts.
The club would not be the same without the efforts of the Social Club led by our Social Director Rod Little and Annabelle Crow for her special efforts in directing the various shows throughout the year as well as the most enjoyable Trivia Quizzes. Of course without the multitude of actors and support workers within the Social Club none of the events would have been the success they were.
As sports director, I would like to thank the Committees of the various Sporting Bodies and Coaches who have shown leadership and guidance to all our sporting teams throughout the year. In particular, Lyn Black for her commitment to the canteen during soccer season.
A big thank you to all the Volunteers who have given their time throughout the year to ensure that the extra little things get done when required.
To Scott, Kristen & staff – Mayfields at Dunoon Restaurant. Thanks for your efforts in making a success of the restaurant. You have assisted in contributing to the success of our club.
To my fellow Board members – thanks for all the input and support shown throughout the year in making it another year of success.
I would like to finish by welcoming in the new Volunteer Board Members. Good luck with the directional decisions needed to be made and implemented during the 2011 - 2012 year.
Yours Sincerely,
Andrew Bain
President
